Shaquille O'Neal: Shaq Touts ESPN Offer in Online Video
Shaquille O'Neal Once Again Goes Online This Time to Report ESPN Gig
Many of you stuck in the stone age of receiving news by television or radio better catch up. The quickest way to get breaking stories is online.
Shaquille O'Neal announced his retirement on Wednesday afternoon by recording a video to Tout.com. Then he tweeted it to his massive list of Twitter followers.
Before even ESPN had an inkling, his fans heard it first. Well, Thursday would be no different. Shaq once again took to Tout and released a video with some very big news attached.
The video shows Shaq announcing that his agent had just told him about a job offer he received. That is when he broke out into song, doing his best rendition of the ESPN theme tune.
There is obviously nothing certified about this news. If we take this at Shaq's word, he was only made an offer. However, I am very excited about the possibilities.
We all knew that a TV deal was imminent for the funniest athlete to ever put on an NBA jersey. His appearance on television was a no-brainer.
Anytime we can fill the sports reporting world with more characters the better. The only problem I have is the volume I will need to have the TV at.
Imagine a room full of friends during the NBA Finals. The game goes to half, and Shaq is sitting there grinning. That is when you put on the closed captions so you can read every hilarious mumble.
I don't mind telling my friends to shut up, not when Shaquille O'Neal is on.
The center that was bigger than the game has retired, but he is hardly gone. Now he can work on his second career, as an entertainer.
