Is Animal Kingdom Going to Have the Best Odds at Belmont?
Animal Kingdom is no longer in contention for the Triple Crown, after finishing second in the Preakness. Even so, winning two legs of horse racing’s Triple Crown would be outstanding.
Mucho Macho Man had a relatively disappointing showing at the Preakness, which makes his stock plummet heading into the Belmont.
Jesus Castanon rode Shackleford to victory in the Preakness. Shackleford is going to be considered a serious contender, heading into the Belmont.
Nehro pulled out of the Preakness, but could be the sleeper in the Belmont. The race could very well be built up as a three horse race, between Shackleford, Animal Kingdom and Nehro.
Animal Kingdom is probably going to be the favorite, with Shackleford and Nehro following closely. That being said, we saw how the winning horse can always come from the field, as Shackleford did with 12-1 pre-race odds.
