UFC 130 Results: Travis Browne Defeats Stefan Struve
My GOD, Stefan Struve is freakishly tall and he's coming out with both guns blazing.
Already kicks seem to be the order of the day—though the Skyscraper did toss in a superman punch for variety. Travis Browne tries to answer, but Hapa's gonna lose that competition all day. Instead, the clinch is on until ref Steve Mazzagatti separates the gladiator and restarts the pleasantries.
Browne lands a big right hand that sends Struve careening into the cage, but seems to have messed with the Dutchman's balance rather than his equilibrium as he's right back at it.
More kicks are exchanged and Hapa gets the better of a few exchanges before registering the first takedown of the contest. Struve is pinned up against the base of the cage and might be in trouble if Hapa was a dangerous grappler, but it doesn't appear that's the case.
Struve reverses and catches Hapa in a momentary D'Arce choke, but he's not in position to finish so he relents.
The monsters are back in the standup and oh my.
Struve moves in for a knee, but Browne beats him to the punch quite literally. A Superman punch drives right through Stefan's chin and sends him crashing awkwardly to the canvas. The tussle is already over, but Hapa makes sure with a couple more bombs before Mazzagatti can dive in between the two brutes.
There's your Knockout of the Night unless something cataclysmic happens in the final two scrapes.
WOW.
Travis Browne defeats Stefan Struve by KO (Superman punch) at 4:11 of the first round.
Browne gets choked up while thanking someone in his post-fight interview. Couldn't make out the name, but he's very proud of someone in the arena.
