They've done nothing but beat every team on their schedule, even though they haven't impressed me that much. They should beat Kansas this week.

They haven't earned this spot, but I can't put a one-loss team from any conference over an undefeated team from a power conference,(Excluding OU) it just goes against every ounce of logic. They have a killer four game stretch ahead, and if they come out of it 3-1, losing the right game could land them in the National Championship... No joke.

College Football Fanatic No.5
Graham Harrell is a legit Heisman candidate and this team is just rolling right along.

You can't argue undefeated.

Although they have struggled at times, they play in a major college football conference and are still undefeated.

Burgess Shaw No.6
Haven't missed a beat yet. Of course, A&M almost got them.

Kevin Thomas No.7
Still undefeated in a strong Big 12.

They have an incredible offense but the defense is shaky to say the least. They have one or two losses coming their way but they have the firepower to shock anyone.

Justin Dixon No.7
After a slow start, Tech dominated the second half. We'll see what the team is made of in the coming weeks.

Too bad this team plays in the loaded Big 12. In the Pac-10,they would be a solid number 2 team. Improvd defense is helpin solidify this perennially explosive offensive team.

Nic Gulas No.8
May be overrated, but right now, the Raiders are undefeated, and nothing can take that away from them so far.

Red Raiders continue to be offensive minded. Can their D show up when its needed?

I was unimpressed by the Red Raiders for a second straight week. I should probably penalize them more for Mike Leach calling timeout late so that he could get another touchdown (when the game ends with a simple kneeldown). The score does not reflect how close the Texas A&M game was (particularly when you see how the Aggies had a TD called back and actually punted down 11, in Tech territory with 5 minutes to go...Mike Sherman are you kidding me?) I think Texas Tech has a few losses on the horizon.

Archie Adams No.9
Their lackluster performance against Nebraska carried over to the first half against A&M. They've got to step it up if they want to contend in the Big 12.

Ken Braun No.9

Ryan Williams No.9
Undefeated, yes. But they haven't played any decent teams yet. Then we can see how good this team really is.

(previous: 10) 7-0. The Red Raiders are hardly distinguishable from Big XII South rivals Oklahoma State at this point, so it's quite understandable to have them tied for 10th (if that were possible in this poll!), on the cusp of being legitimate, but with a few more tests to pass before they are seen as the "real deal". Tech did nicely to recover from the scare vs. Nebraska last week, and the A&M Aggies are just what Dr. Pepper (a Texas product, natch) ordered. There is no doubt that the Raiders' offense is running smoothly, and they should be able to compete well next week @ Kansas. The question remains, though, whether they will survive the inevitable shootouts vs. No. 1 Texas on Nov. 1, or @ No. 5 Oklahoma on Nov. 22.

Raiders are about to lose 3 out of the next 4 and drop drastically.

Why are they so low you may ask? I think the two FCS opponents is a start. Also, their most impressive opponent so far is Nebraska...and that was only an OT win at that
