B/R Top25 Minnesota Comments Week Nine

(previous: 21) 6-1. The Golden Gophers move up in the Top 25 only because of the bloodshed above them in the middle of the table. Similar to Ball State, they have a lot of teams to thank for that. The Gophers are one of the "sleeper" teams in the Big "11" that can benefit in the unlikely event that both No. 3 Penn State and No. 9 Ohio State self-destruct. Their one loss is in conference, to Ohio State; but they don't have to play Penn State this season.

Ummm...really? The same team that put a gooseegg in the W column against the Big Ten last year? I guess that is why it is the 2008 season and not the 2007 version

The Gophers are for real! I've been putting them in the Top 25 since Week 4! They've got five more winnable games - at Purdue, home against Northwestern, Michigan, at a struggling Wisconsin team, and finally home against Iowa. Could the Gophers pull off the miraculous and go 11-1 after a 1-11 season?!?!?! I can't wait to follow them into November.

Minnesota makes its second straight appearance in my top 25 after knocking off a team that many thought would be the cream of the crop in the Big 10.

Here is a team that has struggled the past couple of years, and now here they are in the national spotlight again. They have an opportunity to represent the Big Ten, and themselves in a descent Bowl Game at years end. the truth is that their future schedule isn't going to be easy, but theyy are over the hump this season.
Ben Lee No.24
What a turnaround. They won one game a year ago, and now they have an outside shot to win the Big 10.
