Pittsburgh Steelers On the Mend

Good news for the Steelers and their faithful.

Starting strong safety Troy Polamalu is expected to play on Sunday after suffering a concussion versus the Bengals. Nose tackle Casey Hampton and fullback Carey Davis are also expected to return to action.

Fast Willie Parker is scheduled to practice on Wednesday and is apparently upbeat about his chances to return on Sunday.

On a sour note, starting cornerback Bryant McFadden had surgery on his broken forearm yesterday. The injury was suffered in Sundays game versus the Bengals on the same play that Polamalu was injured. McFadden is expected to be out for five weeks.

The Steelers play the defending champion New York Giants on Sunday, which is the kickoff to a difficult stretch in their schedule. Getting healthy can only improve their chances to vault to the top of the AFC.
