UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill will take place this Saturday on May 28, 2011 at the MGM grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
The originally scheduled rematch and title fight between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard was canceled due to both fighters sustaining injuries during training.
What was originally the undercard has now been moved up to the main event and rightfully so.
Now Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Matt “The Hammer” Hamill will replace Edgar and Maynard in the main event of the evening, moving longtime friends, Frank Mir and Roy Nelson up to the co-main event.
Big fights also worthy of being main or co-main events are Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story and Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago.
The preliminary fight card will be shown on Spike TV and features a bantamweight matchup with Miguel Torres vs. Demetrious Johnson and a middleweight matchup with Kendall Grove vs. Tim Boetsch.
Being shown for free on Facebook are preliminary bouts featuring Gleison Tibau vs. Rafaello Oliveira, Michael McDonald vs. Chris Cariaso and Renan Barao vs. Cole Escovedo.
With nine fights being aired—five of them being free if you have cable—three if you only have internet, I would say that Zuffa LLC and the UFC have outdone themselves once again.
