Charles Barkley: Did Nike Try to Stop Barkley from Hating on LeBron James?
Charles Barkley Feud with Miami Heat Gets More Interesting
The ever-so opinionated Charles Barkley has made it clear who he is rooting for in this year's Eastern Conference Finals: the Chicago Bulls. On his way to jumping on the Bulls bandwagon, Barkley has called the Heat a "whiny bunch" subsequently angering Miami hopefuls.
It was so bad for Barkley that Heat fans were spotted throwing towels at him after last weekend's Game 3 win.
But if we were waiting for Sir Charles to back off from those statements, that's never going to happen. Barkley, actually maintains that people are just getting carried away, including LeBron James' sponsors.
These athletes today are all wussified. I’ve been saying LeBron’s been the best player in the league for three years. And I say one thing criticizing The Decision, and I get a phone call from Nike saying why don’t I like LeBron? It’s interesting how this [expletive] works. These groups today, if you don’t say 100 percent positive about their guy or their team, they overreact.
In some respects, Barkley is right. Teams, players and even sponsors need to just chill out.
Barkley's job is to analyze and breakdown team strengths and weaknesses as well as give his strong opinion.
Chuck is just doing his job and running his mouth because that's what he's supposed to do.
