Jose Canseco, a former MLB star and one-time MMA fighter, kept up his his oddball antics earlier this week he professed his love for pop star Lady Gaga via Twitter.

I'm not sure what Canseco is thinking. Maybe the steroids are making him more confused than ever or perhaps her music actually inspires him.

Canseco tweeted (@JoseCanseco):

"I love lady gaga wish I could meet her .would marry her in a second...Lady gaga is the truth get use to it...Her song Judas is what we fight with everyday since we are born evil...I am her night in baseball armor..She is the queen"

This isn't the first time we've heard of athletes crushing on celebrities—or vice versa. Some have actually gone on to hook up with one another.

Here are the strangest athlete-celebrity crushes in history.

5. Luke Walton and Britney Spears

Back in 2004, Britney Spears supposedly went on the record to say she had a crush on Lakers' reserve forward Luke Walton.

What does a pop princess want with an unathletic bench player with an ugly Grateful Dead-inspired tattoo on a championship team full of bigger stars?

It must have been the red hair!

4. Dennis Rodman and Madonna

Think Madonna went a little nuts when she was reportedly hooking up with Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez?

Well, during her younger years, she was linked to the quirky and eccentric Dennis Rodman.

The thing about Rodman is that he was just a bad boy who women apparently just couldn't resist.

Ask Carmen Electra, who married him for a bit.

3. Wladimir Klitschko and Hayden Panettiere

Klitschko is listed at 6'5".

Panettiere is said to be just a touch over 5-feet.

He's a heavyweight boxer.

She's known best for playing a petite cheerleader.

During their relationship, which lasted almost two years, they were a strange couple.

2. LeBron James and Drake

These two have a bromance going on.

According to Deadspin, Drake frequents plenty of Miami Heat basketball games and sends him text messages that say, "This is your night," while LeBron calls their friendship, "like a family."

Whatever the case, LeBron has gone so far as to feature a Drake character in his animated series "The LeBrons," and Drake is rumored to have written the song "Forever" with LeBron in mind.

Hmm.

1. Jose Canseco and Lady Gaga

Gaga

There's crazy Canseco, who recently tried to use his twin brother Ozzie to fill in for him during a celebrity boxing appearance.

Then, there's Lady Gaga, who marches to the beat of her own drummer.

Apparently, Canseco is serious about his wedding proposal.

He tweeted (@JoseCanseco):

"Lady gaga where r u did u get my marriage proposal I am at cocoa casino in yuma Arizona"

Don't be surprised if she ever said yes.
