Kyle Busch Speeding: Mooresville Is Home to Busch and NASCAR Teams
NASCAR star Kyle Busch was caught speeding Tuesday, going 128 miles per hour on road that had a 45 MPH speed limit near his home in Mooresville, N.C.
If Mooresville sounds familiar to you race fans, it should -- the small town, about 30 miles north of Charlotte, is set on picturesque Lake Norman and is home to several race teams, including Busch, his brother Kurt Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears, Mike Skinner, Derrike Cope and more.
Mooresville is known as Race City USA.
Many of the drivers actually live in the town as well, several in an upscale, lake-front gated community known as The Pointe.
Busch was cited for doing 128 MPH while driving a 2012 yellow Lexus sports car. The driver said he was test-driving the new vehicle and the car just got away from him. He was not arrested and agreed to appear in court at a future date.
NASCAR officials said Busch will be allowed to race on Sunday in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
