Kyle Busch Speeding: NASCAR Star Will Race Despite Speeding Ticket
Kyle Busch was caught speeding near his hometown of Mooresville, N.C., late Tuesday, as Iredell County sheriff's deputies caught him doing 128 miles per hour in a 45 MPH zone (so it's obvious he was on a back road and not on Interstate 77, the main thoroughfare in the westerly part of the state).
Busch apologized in a statement, and while officials from Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports had no immediate comment, NASCAR officials did say Busch will be allowed to race this weekend in the Coca-Cola 600 at nearby Charlotte Motor Speedway. Busch is third overall in Sprint Cup points with two victories so far this season.
However, he is presently on NASCAR probation for a post-race altercation with Kevin Harvick earlier this month at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. NASCAR fined Busch and Harvick $25,000 each and placed both drivers on probation until June 15.
