New Lakers Coach: Lakers Scout Bonnie-Jill Laflin Talks About Coach Mike Brown
New Lakers Coach Mike Brown is What Everyone in L.A. Want to Know About
Welcome to Los Angeles Mike Brown, you've got a tough task ahead of you as the new Lakers coach. Thankfully you're joining a franchise that's not afraid to take risks on people that show great promise.
The Lakers were the first ever team to hire a woman, Bonnie-Jill Laflin, who used to be a Golden State Warriors and Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, as an NBA scout.
They also took a risk on an broadcaster named Pat Riley and handed him the reins as head coach of what turned into their Showtime Lakers basketball team of the 80s.
While the beautiful Laflin, was walking around in Los Angeles she was spotted by TMZ cameras and was asked about the future of the franchise under newly hired coach Mike Brown.
Question: "From what you know are they still going to run the triangle?"
Bonnie: "They already talked about that they want a little bit of the triangle in there. But they want to change it up and try a different offense."
On the new coaching hire, she said (see video):
We're happy about the new coach. The Lakers know what they're doing when it comes to picking someone who's right for the job. Big shoes to fill with Phil Jackson gone...hopefully we'll bring another championship to LA.
So there you go, there's new reason to be optimistic in Los Angeles from the words of the hottest NBA scout ever.
In Laflin's words, the Lakers know what they were doing when they hired Brown.
From looking and listening to her, they certainly knew what they were doing when they hired her too.
Don't doubt the Lakers.
They always find winners, Laflin is living proof of that.
