WWE Over the Limit Results: What Matches We Should Get at WWE SummerSlam 2011

0 of 8

Summerslam is one of my favorite WWE pay-per-views, I love everything about it.

From the logos, to the matches and hell, I love the Divas doing a Summerslam photo shoot.

Summerslam in recent years has been a great pay-per-view, from last year The Nexus (original version) went up against Team WWE headed by Mr WWE (Have a wild guess).

The year before saw the 'feud of the year' (Wrestling Observer) CM Punk against Jeff Hardy.

So it's fair to say, the main event matches for Summerslam have been quite entertaining and I hope to predict just as entertaining matches for this years WWE Summerslam.

So sit back and relax, Summer is coming!

The Miz vs. Alex Riley

1 of 8

Miz was a welcome change in the WWE Championship picture. However the only match I really enjoyed was the TLC match against Jerry 'The King' Lawler.

Is it me or does anyone else prefer Alex Riley over the Miz?

I don't know what it is about The Miz, but I've got quite tired of his promos. The episode of Raw when Alex Riley cut a promo with John Cena really excited me about Riley.

I called a Miz/Riley split soon and it happened this past edition of RAW. Although I made an educated guess on the split, I didn't think it would have been so quickly.

I feel the Miz/Alex Riley feud will finish at SummerSlam.

In addition, I really wanted the climax of their feud to be a match which Alex Riley must win to end the contract of being an assistant to the Awesome One. But as Miz fired him, my dream storyline ending isn't going to happen.

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio

2 of 8

It truly makes me wonder how John Cena puts on entertaining matches, but he somehow does it.

For all you Cena haters, I'm not the big John Cena fan, neither am I a huge John Cena hater.

I don't have no problem with John Cena's so called five moves, but rather I dislike his character. I'm the fan of the old Heel rapper gimmick. And for me, that's the reason why I cheer 'Cena Sucks'.

Alberto Del Rio Vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship is hotly rumored to be the main event due to Vince McMahon viewing Del Rio as the next WWE Champion.

I'm a fan of Del Rio's matches. I feel he puts on great performances, so I am looking forward to this match.

Randy Orton vs. Christian

3 of 8

I'm a huge peep and unsurprisingly not a huge Randy Orton fan.

I feel Randy Orton is somewhat overrated, but that's for another article. I think this match may be the match which may lead Christian to his second WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

    Yes, I'm a dreamer.

But with a Chris Jericho supposedly returning, I feel the return will be after Summerslam because The Rock is rumored to have some involvement. I feel Chris Jericho wants the spotlight on him rather than Rocky Maivia.

And with Christian teasing a heel turn at WWE Over the Limit—he pushed Orton, but then shaked hands—I feel that the WWE are really serious in turning this into a long-time feud.

I was under the belief that Sheamus or Mark Henry would interfere but as that didn't happen, I can assume WWE are serious about this feud.

By the way, was it me or did Christian get a better reception than Orton? If Christian did, well, we can assume the WWE added a huge fan reaction on Orton's SmackDown appearances since becoming Champion.

John Morrison vs CM Punk (if Still Around)

4 of 8

John Morrison will never become a main eventer on Monday Night Raw.

I've got the feeling John Morrison is the next Rey Mysterio. He will be a main event player on SmackDown, but on Raw he will be an upper mid-card act.

Hey, I love JoMo as much as the next guy. However, WWE isn't going to push him as a main player on Raw.

That's why I see a John Morrison/CM Punk feud culminating at SummerSlam as CM Punk—if still signed—will not be wrestling John Cena as Del Rio is penciled for that spot.

According to Wrestling News World.com, CM Punk's contract is up at the end of the summer, which could give this match a Loser Leaves WWE stipulation.

And CM Punk returns when refreshed similar to what the former Lionheart did.

Rey Mysterio vs. R Truth

5 of 8

For all those guys out there who think Rey Mysterio is for the kids, tell me the last time he has put in a bad performance?

This guy has wrestled through injury after injury, and all I read is, "I hope he retires soon."

Rey Mysterio is in my view, on par with the guys like Chris Jericho and Christian. He made Cody Rhodes look great and has changed peoples perception of him. Like the two, Rey Mysterio makes his challengers look damn good whilst putting on great matches.

I would have thought his matches with CM Punk would have changed people's views, but they didn't.

Onto R-Truth, Truth is becoming my Favorite heel on Raw and the fact he teamed with CM Punk made me feel good inside.

Many have stated Truth is becoming an entertaining star and is somewhat better be pushed towards the main event.

I don't see an R-Truth match with John Morrison. I think it's one of those things that will come back in a years time or so...

Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship

6 of 8

    All American-American United States Champion.

    Nice ring? eh....

Jack Swagger is the ONLY wrestler who is credible enough to feud with Kofi Kingston who hasn't feuded recently.

Drew McInytre and Dolph Ziggler are two guys I don't want to see feud with Kofi until Swagger gets a shot. I like McIntyre, but I feel WWE screws with him too much. One day, he is the next best thing; other days, he is WWE Superstars biggest jobber—he lost to Chris Masters recently.

Kofi Kingston is far to popular to be left off the card and chances are Kofi is the only face to be in the US Title path.

The Other Matches

7 of 8

I truly would not be surprised if Dolph Ziggler is not performing at SummerSlam.

As I predicted, I felt Dolph Ziggler would be lost in the shuffle on Raw, whereas others disagreed. Well, I hate to say it, but you were wrong...

I can see Sheamus feuding with Chris Jericho down the line but I can't see Y2J being at SummerSlam if the Rock is there.

Mark Henry might be down the card, perhaps in an Intercontinental Title match if there is no US Title match, as generally only one secondary title is on a pay-per-view card.

Daniel Bryan might be working a dark match. I can't see any feud for him unless he feuds with un-dashing Cody Rhodes.

I would predict a Sin Cara match, but I struggle realistically who he could wrestle a full match with because he doesn't speak English; that's the reason why WWE put Chavo Guerrero with the new boy on the block.

The Undercard Is so Hard to Predict

8 of 8

Will the Corre even be alive by the time of WWE SummerSlam 2011?

The under-card for SummerSlam is so hard. WWE's next big pay-per-view is in three months, and due to WWE's ability to change plans in a moment, the lower card is hard to predict.

In three months, Ezekiel Jackson may not be relevant.

In three months, WWE may have broken up the Kane and Big Show Tag Team.

In three months, Percy Watson may be top dog in the Smackdown mid-card scene.
