Charles Barkely: TNT Moves Barkley Indoors in for Chicago vs. Miami Game
Charles Barkley, the man who was a star at Auburn and became an NBA legend for his toughness and strong play as a power forward despite being undersized at the position has been getting a lot more attention of late for mouth, instead of his past accomplishments as an athlete.
That's right, now he's Chuck: The man, the mouth, the legend.
After this weekend's game in Miami, loyal Heat fans attacked Sir Charles with a harsh words, thrown towels and constant chants of "F*** You Chuck! F*** You Chuck!"
The hatred from the fans was their response to Barkley's opinionated stance the Chicago Bulls were his choice to go to the NBA Finals and his statement that the Heat were a "whiny bunch."
A statement from TNT via the South Florida Sun Sentinel said after all the verbal attack on Barkley:
We appreciate the tremendous enthusiasm of the fans and all that they bring to our live coverage. As we continue with our coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals, we are evaluating the best options for presenting our studio show live from Miami...We are going to go inside.
Can't really blame the Heat fans for standing up for their team. Does Barkley deserve all the hate for doing his job?
It comes with the territory.
Barkley is probably loving the idea that he's getting hated and enjoys the relationship he has with Heat fans.
This is not just a sport, this is also entertainment and Barkley's mouth definitely adds to the experience.
