George W Bush: Former President and First Lady Has Close Call with Foul Ball
George W Bush Nearly Hit by Foul Ball at White Sox vs Rangers Game
Dallas resident and former president, George W. Bush, is an admitted baseball fan and has been known to root for the Texas Rangers, a team he once owned a minority stake in.
On Monday night, while Bush was attending the game with his wife Laura a foul ball off the bat of Rangers' third baseman Adrian Beltre fell near the owner's box where the Bush's and Nolan Ryan and his wife were sitting.
White Sox Catcher A.J. Pierzynski tried to make a play for the ball and reach behind the netter where the president was sitting but couldn't come up with the catch.
I told him just ‘cause he was the president doesn’t mean I wouldn’t jump on top of him. He and his wife got a good chuckle out of it. It was a light moment in an otherwise quick game.
Personally, what I really want to know is why the former president didn't bring a glove and try to make the catch from the stands.
Instead he just sat by and watched the ball fall to the ground.
Here's a video of the play from FOX.
For the record, Bush's Rangers won the game 4-0.
