2011 NBA Mock Draft: Full Mock, Cavaliers Nab Kyrie Irving with No. 1 Pick
2011 NBA Mock Draft Selects Kyrie Irving to the Cleveland Cavaliers With the No. 1 Pick
Kyrie Irving was the consensus top pick going into the weekend and it looks like nothing has changed. He sat out of the festivities Thursday at the request of his agent and looked healthy when he was running the floor for the remainder of the camp.
That is a very telling sign that Irving already knows he won't be waiting long to hear his name on draft day. ESPN draft guru Chad Ford said that Irving only has one private workout scheduled:
Irving is planning to do just one workout and it's with the Cavs. While Cleveland has yet to commit to Irving with their No. 1 pick and will bring in a number of prospects, sources close to the Cavs say that it's very likely they'll select Irving. Not only are they enamored with him as a player, but they also feel he's the type of player who Cavs fans can get behind in Cleveland.
The Cavs are looking to rebuild their franchise and nabbing a franchise point guard with zero character issues is a good way to start.
Did NBA Pre-Draft Camp Raise or Lower Stock?
He didn't have to do much considering he was already the top player on the board, but Irving got a chance to show off his impressive height and wingspan during measurements.
It's hard to draw up a scenario that doesn't find Irving going No. 1.
