WWE Over the Limit 2011: Brie Bella, Kelly Kelly, and the Hottest WWE Divas

1 of 23

Yep, this is one of those slides.

Two of the most beautiful women in all of WWE, Kelly Kelly and Brie Bella had what could be considered a decent match for the Divas Championship at Over the Limit. Constantly improving, Kelly and Brie, along with Nikki Bella and the recently-debuted Kharma, are the focus of the Divas division right now.

But this slide is not about in-ring work or who is and is not the focal point of the Divas division. This is a good ol', mostly male appealing slide counting down the 10 hottest WWE Divas on the current roster. Join me as we journey through a slide which, no matter how many times you see it or one of the several other similar to it, never quite gets old.

Honorable Mention: Natalya

2 of 23

Natalya's beauty is unique because it is not the model-beauty that so many in the current crop of Divas possess. Her looks are that of the "every girl."

She looks like the attractive girl down the street who, as it just so happens, can apply the sharpshooter and make you tap out. It is that beauty that makes her a favorite of so many internet "fanboys."

April 2011: Was drafted to SmackDown in the annual WWE Draft.

10. Alicia Fox

4 of 23

Alicia Fox is one of the models-turned-wrestlers that have infiltrated WWE in the better part of the last decade. Unlike some, however, Alicia shows a level of athleticism that sets her apart from her peers. She is a former Divas Champion that has only shown improvement since first stepping foot in the squared circle in 2008.

Perhaps the hottest thing about Alicia is the attitude she exudes as she struts to the ring, formerly on Mondays and now on Friday nights. She is beautiful, she is hot, and she knows it and that confidence is on display every time she comes through the curtain.

June 20, 2010: Defeated Maryse, Eve Torres, and Gail Kim in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become Divas Champion for the first time.

9. Rosa Mendes

6 of 23

Believe it or not, Rosa is one of three Diva Search contestants still employed by WWE. A contestant in 2006, the same year Layla would win the competition, Rosa has been a member of the WWE family for five years. A veteran of the developmental system, she has been a focal point of Ohio Valley Wrestling broadcasts, as well as Florida Championship Wrestling events, but has never made her mark on either Raw or SmackDown.

She made her debut on WWE television in late 2008 as an obsessed Beth Phoenix fan but, before anything could become of the storyline, it was scrapped and Rosa was left in limbo. She would be seen hanging around the SmackDown locker room, randomly exercising or hanging out with Hornswoggle. For whatever reason, WWE has shown a lack of confidence when it comes to giving this beautiful Vancouver native air time.

Rosa has an exotic beauty about her. She is of Czech and Costa Rican descent and brings a certain Hispanic appeal to Friday Night SmackDown, that is, whenever she receives television time.

Became the main flame of Zack Ryder in the final months of the ECW brand.

February 25, 2011: Defeated Layla by DQ on Friday Night SmackDown

8. Beth Phoenix

8 of 23

Beth Phoenix, the Glamazon, is undoubtedly one of the hottest women in all of sports-entertainment. But it is not for the same reasons as others on this list. She is powerful, has a magnificently sculpted physique, and is more than capable of destroying any Diva, and some male superstars, whenever she sees fit.

Beth also has a natural beauty about her and a certain charm that is exhibited in media appearances and interviews.

Beth has accomplished several feats since joining the WWE and is one of the most decorated Divas in company history.

April 25, 2010: Defeated Michelle McCool at Extreme Rules to become Women's Champion.

December 19, 2010: With Natalya, defeated LayCool in a tag team tables match

7. Melina

10 of 23

Melina exploded onto the scene in 2005 and immediately became one of the more visible Divas on the roster. She was hated by the WWE fans, but there was something about her stuck up, snobbish, spoiled brat-like attitude that made her attractive, not unlike Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian.

As she advanced her career, and became an in-ring competitor, fans respected her for her abilities and hard-hitting style. Like Beth Phoenix, she has become one of the most decorated Divas on the roster.

Unlike Beth, however, there always seems to be some sort of controversy that follows her around and as a result, her career has been stalled on more than one occasion.

August 14, 2010: Defeated Alicia Fox to win the Divas Championship at SummerSlam

6. Layla

12 of 23

"My little English muffin," as Matt Striker calls the beautiful Brit, has been employed by WWE since 2006. One of three Diva Search competitors still in WWE, Layla has achieved more than most expected.

What looked to be a career headed straight for the unemployment line sooner rather than later, Layla has exceeded every expectation set for her and has become one of the most visible women in the company.

As a part of LayCool, Layla dominated the Divas division and, with the television time given, constantly reminded fans why she was considered the hottest, most valuable woman in a pool of them during the Diva Search competition.

A former Women's Champion, Layla seems poised to break out on her own as the face of the SmackDown Divas division.

May 1, 2011: Defeated Michelle McCool in a Loser Leaves WWE match at Extreme Rules

5. Gail Kim

14 of 23

Gail Kim is the sporty girl that every one secretly had a crush on in high school. She has the beauty of any woman on the roster and, at the same time, is more athletic and can simply do things in the squared circle other women cannot.

Gail remains a favorite of internet fans, not only because of her work rate and athleticism, but also because of her stunning beauty.

Gail has had a hard time breaking free of the "former TNA star" stigma that comes with anyone making a return to Vince McMahon's company from the competition. She is ten times the in-ring worker of any current Diva but remains stuck in limbo, with little to do. One can only hope that, with the debut of Kharma, Gail can finally have the opportunity to showcase her abilities.

June 30, 2003: Won a battle royal in her first Raw appearance to become Women's Champion

October 14, 2007: Won a battle royal to become the inaugural TNA Knockouts Champion.

Would engage in a heated rivalry with Awesome Kong—a.k.a. Kharma—in TNA that would make Gail the most talked about woman in the sport. TNA's inability to pay Gail, however, resulted in her returning to WWE in 2008.

August 10, 2009: Won a fatal four way over Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox, and Kelly Kelly to become Number 1 Contender to the Divas Title.

August 17, 2009: Lost to Mickie James in a very spirited, hard-fought battle for the Divas title

October 12, 2009: Teamed with Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos, of Access Hollywood, to defeat Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox.

Advanced to the finals of the Divas Championship tournament in early 2010 but lost to Maryse at Elimination Chamber

Portrayed Daniel Bryan's girlfriend in early 2011 before Bryan was drafted to SmackDown

4. The Bella Twins

16 of 23

Who does not love twins? Prior to Brie's Divas Championship victory, the Bella Twins served largely as the beautiful women who palled around with celebrity guest hosts.

Now, they are the featured heel Divas in a division looking for stars following the disintegration of LayCool. Brie and Nikki play far more entertaining heels than they did babyfaces and it appears as though they are thriving in their new role.

They're likely to get destroyed by Kharma but at least they'll look good doing so.

    Notable highlights from OnlineWorldofWrestling.com:

August 29, 2008: Brie Bella debuts, defeating Victoria after some "twin magic".

November 7, 2008: Nikki Bella makes her official debut as Victoria and Natalya each pull a Bella twin from underneath the ring.

November 21, 2008: The Bella Twins defeat Natalya and Victoria

In early 2009, the Bellas became the centerpiece, along with the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, of the rivalry between John Morrison and The Miz.

Brie and Nikki become arm candy for the guest hosts that populated Monday Night Raw throughout 2009 and the first half of 2010.

The Bellas turn heel in late 2010, early 2011 when Daniel Bryan rejects them in favor of Gail Kim.

April 11, 2011: Brie Bella defeats Eve Torres, with help from Nikki, to become the new Divas Champion

May 22, 2011: Brie defeats Kelly Kelly at Over the Limit to retain the Divas title.

3. Eve Torres

18 of 23

Of all of the Diva Search winners, from 2004-2007, Eve is the hardest to remember as a competitor in the contest. Maybe it is because of her Brazilian ju-jitsu training. Maybe it is her athletic nature. Maybe it is because no one remembers the 2007 Diva Search competition.

There is no denying the fact that Eve has become one of the company's favorite Divas to market. She is a two-time Divas Champion and, outside of Kelly Kelly, is featured on the most marketing materials. One of the few regularly featured Divas on Raw, Eve seems destined to succeed as a featured Diva in the company.

Became a part of the Michael Cole-Jerry Lawler rivalry when Cole consistently interrupted her matches and disrespected the WWE Divas.

2. Kelly Kelly

20 of 23

Kelly Kelly is the most true example of the All-American girl the WWE currently has. She's blonde, fit, has a beautiful smile and perfect tan. She's the good girl we feel sympathy for when something bad happens to her and feel excitement for when she succeeds. She is the girl most women want to be and most men want to be with.

Kelly is the second longest-tenured Diva on the roster and has become the go-to Diva for marketing purposes. Her image has been plastered on posters, DVD covers, magazines, souvenir programs, and other collectibles.

She has also been positioned as the first program for the incoming Kharma, who has a knack for punishing Barbies. The question remains whether or not Kelly will fall in the same manner of Maryse, Eve, Alicia Fox, and Nikki Bella or if she will stand up to Kharma and provide the first real test for the monstrous newcomer.

Or will she continue to be a play-thing for Kharma, someone the bigger woman finds entertaining to torment?

    Only time will tell.

Had several matches with the dominant Beth Phoenix in which she nearly upset the "Glamazon."

July 18, 2010: Lost to Women's Champion Layla at Money in the Bank.

Became involved in a featured storyline on SmackDown, featuring Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero attempting to take the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge.

February 4, 2011: Teamed with Edge to defeat Dolph Ziggler and LayCool. Kelly pinned Layla to retain the World Heavyweight Championship for Edge. After the match, Kelly was fired by Vickie Guerrero.

Re-hired at Elimination Chamber. She attacked Vickie but was beaten down by LayCool.

Kelly was drafted back to Raw in April.

1. Maryse

22 of 23

Maryse is the woman the female fans hate and the male fans want to be with, even though they have absolutely no shot. She is the stuck up, spoiled little girl that usually gets what she wants and will stop at nothing to make that possible.

A year-and-a-half ago, Maryse seemed poised to dominate the Divas division for years to come. She was a believable bad girl that fans wanted to see get what was coming to her.

However, somewhere between her winning the Divas Championship in February of 2010 and her failed partnership with Ted DiBiase, the company lost faith in her. Now, Maryse has been relegated to the rarely-seen Tuesday night online program, NXT.

Will she be able to rebound or will she be another missed opportunity for the company?

Another injury kept Maryse out until November of 2009

Was paired with Ted DiBiase throughout 2010
