It was an interesting day's play on Sunday even though everybody always seems to forget that the tournament starts at the weekend rather than a Monday morning.

Marin Cilic crashed out to Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, and Varvara Lepchenko sent 18th seed Flavia Pennetta packing, signalling that we may be in for some other shocks over the next few days as the fields settle down.

On Monday, we have some of the top seeds in action, including Roger Federer, Vera Zvonareva, Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki. US interest is there too, with Melanie Oudin up first on Court Philippe Chatrier.

I'll be keeping my eyes on the courts and letting you know the stories to watch throughout the day.
