In a must-win game, Villanova (ranking 21st and seeking their first big road game) received a big scoring game from sophomore guard Scottie Reynolds, who outscored Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn, 25-23.

With solid inside games from Shane Clark, Dante Cunningham, and Antonio Pena, Villanova captured an important Big East win, which seem to be hard to secure this year.  Corey Fisher provided a solid game off the bench, scoring 15 points.

The Wildcats (13-3, 3-2 Big East) had lost their previous 2 Big East games on the road at Cincinnati and DePaul.

Nova plays at Rutgers (in last place) Wednesday night and at home to Notre Dame Saturday before preparing for a rematch at Pitt on the 30th of January.
