The year’s second tennis major, the 2011 French Open, gets underway on Sunday on the unmistakable red clay of Roland Garros in Paris.

But it’s not just the red clay that will be at the forefront of fans’ minds. There are loads of storylines to follow.

Can men’s No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic keep his amazing win streak alive against the likes of top-seed Rafael Nadal? Could legendary Swiss master Roger Federer go all the way to his 17th grand-slam title? Or could an up-and-coming, lesser-known player—a Gael Monfils, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Gilles Simon—get hot and shock the world?

Without Serena or Venus Williams in the women’s draw, can Caroline Wozniacki win her first-career major? Can hard-working Italian Francesca Schiavone repeat her 2010 title? Or can Maria Sharapova return to the top?

Stick with Bleacher Report throughout the tournament for multiple updates each day with fun slideshows and hard-hitting analysis along the way.
