NBA Mock Draft 2011: Full 1st-Round Mock, Kenneth Faried to Nuggets at No. 22
2011 NBA Mock Draft Brings Rebounding Machine To Denver Nuggets
With both Nene and Kenyon Martin potentially gone in free agency, the Nuggets will need some new bodies on the front line. They bring in one of the toughest players in the draft in PF Kenneth Faried.
Playing at Morehead State, Faried didn’t always face the toughest competition, but his performance speaks for itself. He broke Tim Duncan’s Division I record for career rebounds, posting 83 double-doubles in his college career.
Faried may not even be as tall as his listed 6’8”, so he’ll have to prove himself against bigger players every night at the NBA level. He’s a tireless worker on defense, but his lack of length reduces his playmaking ability on that end of the floor.
He has no jump shot to speak of and minimal scoring punch, but Faried will be one of the league’s most dangerous rebounders from day one. This late in Round 1, it’s hard to pass up that kind of talent.
