Oscar De La Hoya: Fighter Enters Rehab to Wage Battle Against Substance Abuse
TMZ is reporting that former 10 time champion Oscar De La Hoya has checked into a California-area substance abuse facility.
It remains unclear on what he was using, but he is trying to clean himself up.
This comes as a shock because there has never been any troubles in the public eye and he seemed to have his life in order and doing well with Golden Boy Promotions.

While the news is a surprise, it is good to hear that De La Hoya is seeking help before an incident he could regret could take place.
De La Hoya was one of the bets fighters of our generation and one of the truly good faces for the sport.
During a time of declining interest, De La Hoya brought a real presence to the ring that had been missing for a long time. He was charismatic and charming and dangerous as hell in the ring, making him the perfect face for the faltering sport.
Hopefully De La Hoya can get himself back on track and back into the boxing promoting game where he belongs.
