Lewis Hamilton will receive a fine for driving positively well in China. The stewards discovered that Lewis was receiving inside information from a book entitled Positive Driving for F1 Drivers.
The opposition had no answer for Hamilton's text book driving ability and is looking at ways to stop the onslaught coming in two weeks time.
One aspect we should definitely be looking at is team orders; we need to stop drivers/teams from purposely swapping positions now. Otherwise, at the end of the season, teams can have teammates swap places in order to give one driver a title (even if his teammate had a faster car).
I also could not believe it when I read that the Stewards are not actually former racing drivers.
Surely, even with my logic, that can be changed.
So, with Brazil looming in two weeks time, we hope Hamilton is up to his best, as usual. The race will surely be a tense and nail biting experience. We'll be waiting to see who the new F1 champ will be.
In fact, I think that new champ appears somewhere on this page.

Have you ever seen WRC lately?
The team tactics are so blatent that the driver actually stop before the finish of a stage for the required amount of time to allow a team-mate to overtake, then just drive over the line.
This ought to be banned and now!

why ban it. Its something the ruling body needs to sort out. The first car on a dirt road is disadvantaged. Why be the road sweeper for the rest?
I think its ok cause the teams and drivers are driving inside the rules. frankly this is more exciting than what F1 has to offer now. Bring back the drivers like senna and the lax rules of the past. I stayed away to watch the race live when senna gave his warning to prost in Japan. Two years in a row, what drama. What guts.
Look at the playstation boys of f1 today. if they fart in the cockpit, everyone would complain so much about it that FiA would give in and make a rule to ban it. And as the rule books become like the yellow pages, how can any steward, driver or team, remember and regulate it all?? Then what we get is inconsistent penalties being handed out and few conspiracy theorist would have a field day penning bandwidth wasting articles about how Fia stand for Ferrari 1st Alway, or ferrari FiA this and that.
Me, I love the sport. I just wish there were a lot less rules on the racing bit. If a guy wants to block, so be it. Thats where the excitement is. You want the best cock-stand in racing. Go watch the clip of senna holding back mansell in Monaco.
Mansell in the BEST car of the year. Senna in a crapy Mclaren (perhaps no inside mole at williams at the time,.. hahaha). As luck had it for senna, Mansell picked up a puncture. Senna got a whiff of it and pushed hard. Just got infront of mansell and the remaining laps are what keeps F1 fans like us at the edge of the seat. Mansell tried everything in the book. Senna drive his heart out and WON.
Did senna get a ban? A drive-thru penalty? Time knocked off? NO. He was hailed a a great racing driver and thats what the sport is ALL ABOUT. Racing and winning. The current racing in f1 is so damn boring. Its a sad joke and with all the money spent in the sport, its a crime really.
The core of F1 is this. The cars have to out do each other at all cost. I stress the words at ALL COSTS. technologically, f1 cars should always be at the top of the pyramid. And then on race day, every guy has to show what he is made off. I don't care if he is going to block, shunt, do what ever it takes. Just prove what a bastard he is at wining.
Is all that so difficult for the sport? Any driver that complains he was blocked, brake tested or treated unfairly on track, well he can jolly well do race for Grandma's one-make series for Austin cars!!!! Enuf said!! :)

Check this picture out. we wonder why stewards screw up? Try watching 24 tvs monitor radio and data telemetry and make decisions at the same time.
Here is a more modern facility

OK who wants their job? Can you imagine a f1 driver sitting there for 2 hrs watching and controlling all of that mess?

I went to check the picture on the stewards. My word its human punishment and insanely impossible to make a positive decision the human attention span is 40-45 minutes on paying attention to a subject how on earth can we expect these guys to do a good job.
Will have to do a poll on that picture later today.
Thanks for the valuable advice

What is so funny is that these people have a Super License ,the same license that gives all of the F1 drivers the right to race at the F-1 level. I counted at least 3 radio's and two mic's I am assuning a majority of the other equipment is vidoe editing replay "thingies"
I definetly would not want their job and I cannot see a F1 racer ex or current to have a psyche that would stand up to that test. And the stewards are kept isolated before the race.
Perhaps the answer is to make 2 drivers from every race sit in that booth post race and give driver insight to particular issues of corners or problems in track surface or things that someone that has been on the track that day would have a solid insight. The problem with that is you would have to find the 2 drivers who escaped scrutiny of the cameras in order to be unbiased.

Once LH and Hiki goes to Brasil the F.I.A and the stewards will change the rules so Mclaren will not
benifit from one leadind team-mate slowing down to let the other pass.
I will put money on this.

Yeah I am so tired of seeing Heikki having to under-perform. I cannot beleive his personal drive is so lacking. People that have reached the level of F1 usually don't get there by sitting on their hands.

Anthony, in my opinion Mclaren are known for not giving a 100% working car to the second driver when they want to promote their first driver for the win. It happened with Senna/prost, Senna and that guy from america. Alonso was never happy about it. Coultard himself said recently RON would refer to his main guy as HIS team and the other (2nd driver) was referred to as The Other Team.
Heikki is a nice guy like the current crop of new drivers. He is just happy and has gratitude to be in F1. Even if he knows the car is somehow not the same as Lewis's car, he won't say anything. Change Heikki for a fiery driver like say Alonso, heidfield, montoya and then see what happens. Heikki is like mika.. a nice loving chap. In terms of wanting to win at all cost,... zero!

Peter 2. You are living up to your usual post, one that is for the sole purpose of disruption. Hamilton being black does not have a place here, it is a non issue on him being a racer. You of course will say it does, just to be contentious. As for Obama his name definitely does not belong here, as one who has very strong feelings about the issue and and actually has a vote on the subject, this is not the place. There again Peter, you have been quick to attack others, not to mention your letter from the gutter that should have seen you removed from the site.

Yawn. Another article written to slag off the FiA and to big up Lewis. This has been done so many times now. You're saying that the FiA are changing rules, they are not. Have a look at the FiA website, the rues are published at the beginning of the year, 2009 rules are already there, have a look. They are the GOVERNING body, if there were no FiA there would be no F1, so you would have nothing to watch every other Sunday, either that or you would have nothing to complain about every other Monday. So many people have said that LH is getting more shit than everyone else. I don't agree, Michael Schumaker, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Jean Alesi all took shit off the FiA but nobody in this country gave a shit, why? Because they are not British. Most of the english speaking world watches the British version of the F1 season, so therefore hear the British press' version of things. Which I'm afraid to say is very bias. If the FiA are bias towards Ferrari why are none of the other teams complaining about this? surely one of the other teams would take it to a court hearing, if a referee is bias in any other sport the team publically takes it to the governing body to court and says something. You all say that the FiA are bias, if they are you are also saying that the other 9 teams in the championship are all spineless and can't speak out.. I used to like Lewis when he first came into the championship, a good new refreshing driver, however soon went off him because its clear that all of the press want to be either with him or actually be him, and his comaparing himself to the likes of Senna and others, he hasn't even won a championship yet, granted he will win, but come on. Drivers have to have self belief but his is too much, Which is now making him look like he has a bad attitude.

The chicane rule was not changed, the rule was there in the first place, just people didn't understand the rule fully.
Both Massa and Bourdais were in the wrong that is certain. Massa granted didn't give the boy enough room, however the corner was Massa's, Massa crossed the saftey car line before Bourdais.
Donnelly's involvement with Ferrari is with the road car side of the company, it has nothing to do with the Formula One, I have been to Marranello and the factory is on the main street and the F1 part is the other side of the village on the outskirts of the Fiorano curcuit. Yes they are part of the same company, but they don't actually have anything to do with eachother, I work in an industry with IT, and Panasonic is one of our biggest partners, and I have dealings with both telephone and CCTV, the two guys I have contact with work in the same big office and and they don't even know eachother, when a large corporation has different sectors to concentrate on they don't interfere with eachother.
The Renault damper thing was a part of the car that was illegal, exactly the same as McLarens front wing and Ferraris barge board of a few years ago. Both appealled but it was chucked out because the outlines of a car is given before the start of the season, if the parts are changed during the season and a small bot of it is overlooked then the FiA have no choice but to say something.
Japan was just a small incident that the British press didn't really need to look at, granted the call from the stewards for Bourdais was wrong because both drivers were in the wrong. But the influence of the British press is so strong that people listen to them, the masses are mainly (I'm not saying you are) sheep and just nod their heads. There are a lot of people on this site that are just casual fans and don't know technical details, again Peter I'm not saying that you are, as some of the articles that you produce are very well informed, but there are a lot of writers that don't know all of the details in an incident, rule, etc...

I dont have a problem with swappig positions , its racing and its a team game thus the reason for two drivers rather than 1 .
Although it was so laughable how many laps Felipe needed to overtake Kimi , I think it was a legit move as was Heikki and Lewis's team game in Hockenheim .
Just the only problem for me is the Ferrari fans who screamed blue murder when Mclaren did it in Germany , do you see us Mclaren fans going on about sundays driver swap ??? No !!

There is one difference between Germany and China Mark.
In Germany, both McLaren drivers still had every mathematical chance of winning the title. Thats why ferrari fans screamed blue murder, obvious bias before the logic and maths was taken into account.
Meanwhile, in China, Kimi Raikkonen was mathematically out of the championship battle, with his team-mate in it. That's why the McLaren fans can't or don't rant about it. You really don't see the difference between the two grand prixs?

Woah Woah Anne dont start all that slander again , THERE WAS NO TEAM ORDERS in Hockenheim , Heikki was just doing the realistic and sensible thing . He had NO chance of winning that race or this title , simple as that . Mathematically , yes but realistically , No .
And No i am Like Paul Heffernan on this one and i always will be , team mates should be able to do team mates favours at any time of any race , wheather it be Ferrari , Mclaren or Force India , im all for it . Its what the word TEAM is about , you work as a unit , just like a football team you try to work in unison , so no Dagni i wouldnt scream Blue Murder i dont mind it .

I don't have any problems with team orders in F1, it is just good team work. Back in the good old days it was not uncommon that a top driver that broke down would flag down his team-mate and pinch his car.
One thing I will add though is that when Ferrari use team play it's fine but when McLaren use them (Hockenhiem) it's a big problem. Is it just me or do others see this also?

Hi all you guys and girls it was rather a shock to see all the big guns coming forward and responding to my article and only two people say i am racist, its so sad.
Right lets start firing away I am actually a loyalist when it comes to Lewis i am everything people wants to call me.
And let me tell you why, i was born and bred in Cape Town South Africa 51 years ago so if you make your calculations i was born in the apartheid era and was told in school, there will always be a limit to what i could achieve.
So when i see any black, colored, half white dark skin person performs in the world i go crazy i follow that mans performance because deep inside it tells me if you get the change to show case your ability amongst the best you do it.
I come from a segregated school, today i have daughter that will graduate from a use to be a
white university with a degree in chemical engineering.
And all i said to her in her childhood i will slave myself to death to pay for your education just be all you can be.
And if all this make me a racist good luck to my fan club
I my word i forgot about the Formula 1 race ...... Will do my new article sometime soon

Hey, at least in Germany it looked like one of the cars was faster than the other. They could have made it more realistic in China, like maybe over breaking at the turn instead of overtaking 3/4s of the way down the straight.
I am ambivalent on the whole team orders thing, but with the rules they way they are now, I would think that each driver should be racing all the others, not just the other teams.

By Ian Parkes, PA Sport, Sao Paulo
Lewis Hamilton will today attempt to put a sickening disruption to his world title dreams to the back of his mind.
Ahead of his attempt to become Formula One's first black champion, Spanish racists have set up a vile website targeting Hamilton.
The sport had hoped the scenes witnessed at a test session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona earlier this year were a one-off.
A handful of Spanish people blackened their faces, wore curly black wigs and sported t-shirts with the inscription 'Hamilton's family'.
That prompted world governing body, the FIA, to launch their anti-racism campaign 'EveryRace', with Hamilton as its figurehead.
But with Sunday's title-deciding showdown on the horizon, Hamilton is again embroiled in a racist storm.
It is arguably the last thing either Hamilton or his McLaren team could have envisaged happening in the build-up to such a vital race.
McLaren have done their utmost to ensure Hamilton has remained in a calm, relaxing environment, but that peace has now been shattered.
Although McLaren yesterday insisted Hamilton was 'vaguely aware' of the offending website and material, without doubt he will face any number of questions on the subject following today's practice.
The FIA and McLaren at least jointly condemned those who had posted sickening messages, many of which are too abusive to publish.
An FIA spokesman said: "Our position is very clear - discrimination and prejudice can have no place in sport or in society.
"Everyone in our sport will join us in condemning these abusive and hateful comments."
A spokesman for the team added: "McLaren was one of the earliest supporters of the FIA's 'EveryRace' campaign, and we support that campaign still.
"We've seen the statement from an FIA spokesman, and we can only echo it."
The 'voodoo-style' website carries the name Pincha la Rueda de Hamilton, which translates as Burst Hamilton's Tyre.
Visitors to the site, with 20,000 to date, are encouraged to drop imaginary nails, pins or porcupines on a mock-up of the Interlagos circuit.
A notice on the site reads: 'Hamilton can't finish the race. We have to stop him however we can.
"All you have to do is choose a spike, place it where you want on the circuit and hope he suffers a historic puncture."
However, it is the putrid comments that forced the FIA into issuing their strongly-worded statement of denunciation.
On leaving the website, an automated message informs visitors: "We hope Hamilton punctures thanks to your help."
At a time when a sharp mind is required, there is the danger such an aberration could harm his chances of becoming the youngest driver to win the F1 world title.
Hamilton, who holds a seven-point lead over Ferrari's Felipe Massa, is aware he has to remain focused, a subject he discussed prior to the emergence of the Spanish website story.
"It's just another race," insisted Hamilton.
"We've come from a great race in China, and I know here we will be just as strong, if not a little bit stronger.
"It looks positive, and again my approach is the same as in the last race.
"We don't really have much pressure on us, we just have to do a good job. That's what racing's about."
Emphasising the need for a stable environment, team boss Ron Dennis said: "There is nothing to be gained in following the media.
"Whether the news is positive or negative, all you have to be is at peace with yourse
