Devils' Petr Vrana Scores First NHL Goal

JerseySenior Analyst IOctober 18, 2008

With Brian Rolston out for the time being, Petr Vrana is taking his place on the Devils' top line. Tonight, against the Capitals, Vrana got his first taste of the NHL, and with about seven minutes to go in the opening period, Vrana netted his first NHL goal.

He's no Fabian Brunnstrom (yet), but this was certainly a memorable moment for Vrana, and something Devils fans hope to see more often. (Hey, maybe this kid'll be more productive than the still-available Brendan Shanahan, whose Devils connection has been refreshed in our minds after the Rolston injury.)

Note: On the play, Patrik Elias got his 365th assist, passing Scott Niedermayer for first all-time on the Devils' assist leaderboard. Mazel tov to Elias mishpacha.
