NBA Draft Order 2011: Which Teams Will Shy Away from Enes Kanter?
NBA Draft Order 2011 will have teams second guessing small center
How confident will NBA teams be in a Turkish center who didn’t play a game last year and is a bit undersized for his position?
I’m got to assume that there will be plenty of teams that will pass on him. Are there things about Kanter to like? Yes. He’s got a crafty game. He plays with the range and depth of game that is well beyond his years. He can rebound, likes contact, finishes well and his range is better than many who play the position.
However, Kanter is also a bit undersized and doesn’t have the kind of explosion many of his counterparts do. It’s a lot to ask a center to play in the league of explosive athletes while he doesn’t have any explosion.
I’m not certain that an undersized center is worth taking in the top 5 picks. Perhaps Kanter will prove me wrong, but I’m not so sure about it.
I can’t see anyone other than maybe the Jazz willing to take a chance on him.
