2011 NBA Mock Draft: Phoenix Suns Select Markieff Morris at No. 13
The Phoenix Suns finished the season 40-42, their first losing season since 2003-2004.
After losing Amare Stoudemire before the season, the Suns overhauled their team, shipping Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu and Earl Clark to the Magic for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus and a future first round pick.
In the draft, the Suns will look to give Steve Nash some help down low. Phoenix is great on the perimeter, but they need a presence inside along to go with centers Marcin Gortat and Robin Lopez.
Kansas forward Markieff Morris would fit nicely here at no. 13. He averaged 13.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks as junior last season, and he’ll give the Suns a true power forward that they lacked last year.
Chance of Getting No. 1 pick: 0.6%
Pick at No. 13: Markieff Morris, PF, Kansas
