2011 NBA Mock Draft Gives Denver Nuggets New Big Man

This 2011 NBA Mock Draft allows the high octane Nuggets to add more depth to their frontcourt. Williams is one of the most successful big men from college basketball and fills a definite need for more size on the Nuggets roster.

Williams immediately makes Denver's roster that much tougher.

Chad Ford notes:

He's big, physical and was one of the best rebounders in college basketball this season. If he can get into shape, he could be a really good pick.

Although his weight is still a concern, Williams has shown his commitment to trimming down. Doug Gottlieb says:

Big, strong and a little heavy, Williams is the best pure low-post scorer in the draft. He needs to drop 15 pounds, his feet are bad on ball-screen defense and he rarely goes over his right shoulder. But he establishes and maintains position, has soft hands and continues to improve.

Denver could opt to go with more of a pure power forward with a face-up game than an undersized center like Williams, however, he's worth the risk at this stage in the draft.

My pick: Jordan Williams, C, Maryland
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 260 lbs.
