2011 NBA Mock Draft: Comparing Expert Opinions, Wizards Select Tobias Harris
2011 NBA Mock Draft Sees Washington Wizards Land Versatile Forward
This 2011 NBA Mock Draft allows the youthful Wizards to add another young talent to their roster. At this point in the draft, he's one of the best prospects still available and his ability to play both forward positions make him that much more appealing.
In fact, ESPN's Doug Gottlieb is so high on Harris that he thinks he's a Top-10 talent:
Big and skilled with a professional-style game, Harris should continue to climb draft boards as scouts see his body developed quite well in his one college season. He is a little soft and not terribly comfortable in the low post on offense, but he does have some skill down there to score at the low block. At 6-foot-8 he has to be a 3 in the NBA, and I believe he can be, though he played face-up 4 to this point.
Chad Ford predicts that Harris goes to the the Denver Nuggets in his mock draft, however, adding a guy with a solid jumper and good range in Harris would probably be a good fit for the Wizards because of John Wall's penetration.
Harris might be one of the more underrated players in the draft. He can play both the 3 and 4, has a very high basketball IQ and has an NBA body. He doesn't do any one thing at an elite level, but he's one of the most well-rounded players in the draft.
He's an ideal small forward right now but could develop into a face-up power forward if he adds more muscle.
My pick: Tobias Harris, SF/PF, Tennessee
Weight: 226 lbs.
