Brock Lesnar: Does Latest Setback Change Our Perception of Lesnar?
Brock Lesnar Is Out of His Fight Against Junior dos Santos, But How Should We Look at Lesnar?
Is it possible that down the line we wonder what might have been with Brock Lesnar?
We're heading in that direction now that Lesnar has had to step away from his fight with Junior dos Santos because of another bout with diverticulitis, an ailment that impacted him during his championship reign.
After his loss to Cain Velasquez, there was a lot of pressure to come back strong after losing the championship, and it got to the point where it was impacting Lesnar's training—and if he's not confident, there's no point in fighting.
However, this is someone who used to be the baddest man in the UFC, but now we're wondering if he can ever get back in the ring and start to live up to the potential that we've seen during his short MMA career.
This is a guy who is more than just a former WWE champion, as has been documented in the past. With his amateur wrestling background, this guy is a legit fighter and is someone who could have dominated the sport for years.
Now, this is something that has really slowed down his progression and I have doubts that he's going to become an impact player in this sport.
Lesnar will always draw eyes because of his personality and who he is, but as far as becoming a consistent, formidable presence in MMA, I don't see that ever happening.
His health is what's important, and right now, it's just not there and it's hurting his career. It's really a shame, because the potential has been there for Lesnar to become a mainstay in UFC and help MMA become even more popular than it already is.
