Preakness Stakes 2011 Will be Animal Kingdom's Toughest Test In His Run For Three

Animal Kingdom took down the Kentucky Derby, but was simply the best horse in a field that really wasn't that good?

We are still not sure what the entire field will look like next Saturday at Pimlico, but we do know that Animal Kingdom will be there on quite a quick turnaround.

The short two weeks could be the most interesting thing to note for Kingdom who, according to ESPN's Jeremy Plonk, has a trainer not known for pushing it this way.

Plonk writes:

According to DRF.com's Formulator stats, trainer Graham Motion is 7-for-48 (15 percent) over the past 5 years with 3-year-olds racing back on 1-14 days' rest, and a 14-percent trainer on that same quick turnaround with horses of all ages. This is not Motion's normal strength, but ANIMAL KINGDOM does not appear to be a normal horse.

Not a normal horse is right.

Animal Kingdom has won on every surface and has shown the ability to dominate.

No matter who enters the field, this will be Animal Kingdom's race to lose from here on out.
