What Will Donovan Do?: Eagles, McNabb Look Ahead

Donovan McNabb has been everything for the Philadelphia Eagles franchise in his nine years in the City of Brotherly Love.

Everything except a Super Bowl champion.

Three NFC Championship visits, one Super Bowl appearance, and a plethora of stats is the legacy McNabb has left in Philly. However, word is his days with the Eagles are numbered.

Are the Eagles going to rely on a questionable backup like AJ Feeley? Kolb? Or do they give Donnie another shot?

We all know McNabb was never 100 percent during the season. His injury was not fully healed yet the QB played like a warrior upon his premature return. He played his heart out on a team with no true No. 1 receiver.

Yet many people are not sad that he may be moving on.

I remember what Randall Cunningham was able to do with the Vikings years after he left the City of Brotherly Love and I'd hate to see Donovan do the same for a team like the Lions or the Cardinals, teams that would love to have a quarterback like McNabb.

For all that McNabb has given us, it's time for the Eagles franchise as well as the fans to give him another shot. The only question then remains...

What will Donovan do?

i am a huge donovan mcnabb fan, he is the only quaterbck that i ever seen play for the eagles and i think he did a great job, philadelphia should give him another chance. I think that if the eagles sign bernard berrian the eagles will have a good 1,2,3 punch with reggie brown, kevin curtis and bernard berrian. That is all mcnabb needs a player like berrian. I think we can make it to the superbowl if mcnabb is healthy without a consitent #1 reciever win it probaly not if we had a player like berrian that really makes the chance that the eagles have to win the superbowl go up.

mcnabb is our man in 2008...no doubt.westbrook is our man and the rest of our 50 plus man roster will be the man in 2008. expect "playmakers" to be signed and drafted. expect new corners and a solid year for dawkins, the eagles will wait to draft a new safety to replace him just not this year. hopefully they do get a corner in the draft that can help make an immediate impact to help out a some what declining lito shpperd.shawn andrews is ACTUALLY the best guard in the league and at such a young age. he beefs up or offensive line so much it's ridiculous..all i can say is shawn andrews is actually the best guard in the league. winston justice needs to fix what ever he has going on because he's there physically just not mentally ever since he got creamed by the giants in his only start.there is potential there. eagles will in the future draft a new left tackle to replace thomas, but will wait until the right draft. eagles will continue to have an elite offensive line.

Who says Donovan's days are numbered in Philly? Team President stated he is the QB on WIP, which he did not HAVE to do, and he's under contract, so it isnt like he's shopping for offers like an UFA.

    Understand?

When will Philadelphia ever learn that the grass is not always greener on the other side. How many
teams in the NFL have to the playoffs more in the last 9 years? If Donnavan doesn't play next year,
how would a W3 L13 sit with everbody

Get Chad Jhonnson or even Randy Moss who will not sing with the Pat next year. They can keep Kevin Curtis or Reggie Brown as the 3rd options, that all they are worth. They Option 1 and Option two recievers if they want to win the supper bowl. McNabb & Westbrook by them selfs would never win the big one. Lets face it, can you compete with Pats and Colts with recivers like they have now. Philly fans blame McNabb all you want but all the good QBs had the best recivers. It is hard for me to say Montana/Young would have been this greate if they didn't have Rice? or Manning with out Harrison and Wayne?

Runyan's not the problem, its thomas, yes he's 1 of the best but also very injured. look at his backups, not just saying this cause of the O.C. game they and he give up most sacks on most years + i didt like getting rid of fraley, ugly yes but he got the job done, i dont like jackson. Ne ways i like runyan, he's dirty and brings an attitude to the line, good for our young Andrews.
