WWE needs the fresh perspective of Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho has never been the face of WCW or WWE, but more guys like him wouldn’t hurt Vince McMahon at all.

Now that Jericho was booted from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, he’s eyeing his return to the squared circle. Expect there is just one caveat: he want’s something different.

We’ve all seen the Jericho heel character for a couple of years now. He went from most loved to most hated in the span of two shows. However, Jericho doesn’t want to come back as the same guy. He wants more for himself.

It’s that kind of thought that should resonate in the WWE locker room. The product is better when guys are invested in their character. It keeps the product from getting stale and that’s why Jericho continues to remain fresh and welcome coming back in.

Alberto Del Rio and the 20 Most-Hated Wrestlers of All Time

Young guys coming up should take heed of Jericho. It’s not that Jericho is inventing new names or completely new gimmicks. He’s simply changing his perspective and in turn it changes the way we feel about him. So many guys try so hard to get over, when just coming out with a different emotion makes you come off differently and gives you direction.

(I would like to thank countless improv teachers for that last piece of advice. It’s true. After all, if a bunch of artsy fartsy 20-somethings with slip shoes and backpacks with patches on it can learn this simple logic, so can the WWE).

In a never ending story, one must being to keep things fresh.
