2011 NBA Mock Draft: Trey Thompkins Fits Best on the New Jersey Nets
The New Jersey Nets can use help all over the basketball court, but if they lose PF Kris Humphries then they need to add a big man to the fold.
Georgia’s Trey Thompkins is a solid well-rounded player, but he’ll need to overcome so deficiencies if he is going to contribute on a nightly basis for the Nets. However, he plays well on the inside and is a reliable scorer.

If Thompkins can better himself defensively he could be a steal, but he does need to improve his quickness in order to accomplish this. His rebounding has been a question mark too, but solid coaching will help ease that issue.
Thompkins isn’t a spectacular player, but he’s too good for the Nets to pass on this late in the draft. New Jersey really doesn’t have much to lose, since the number of quality big men has dried up at No. 27.
