Rafael Nadal: Can Nadal Win His Sixth French Open Crown?
Rafael Nadal Is Looking To Win the French Open After Winning Last Year
When you think about dominance at the French Open, you think about Rafael Nadal.
Nadal has simply owned the French Open, having won five of the last six events and needless to say, he's one of the favorites heading into the even. However, the player I'm looking for heading into this year's slam is Novak Djokovic.
There are few players who have been playing better tennis right now than Djokovic and he just beat Nadal straight up at a recent event on clay. Djokovic has a lot of momentum heading into the event and you'd have to be stupid if you don't think he's going to be playing deep into this tournament.
Djokovic is the reigning Australian Open champion and if he can make it two slams in a row, then he's going to really start to put a stranglehold on the men's tennis draw and continue to emerge as one of the top contenders in tennis.
A second-straight slam would go a long way towards making Djokovic a more of a household name.
Of course, Roger Federer is in the mix heading into the French Open and that's to be expected, especially because of his track record and diverse skill set. As usual, these men are the top three contenders for the crown and Nadal is going to have to be on top of his game to win another slam.
In the end, with Nadal's extreme dominance at this event and on clay, I'm going to to stick with the reigning champion until proven otherwise. It's not going to be easy, but Nadal certainly has what it takes to further cement his legacy at the French Open.
