Yuniesky Betancourt and Rickie Weeks Combine for Astonishing Double Play
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt is a tough man to figure.
He has as much range as any shortstop in the bigs and he has a super-strong arm, but he's not exactly the best fielder. He tends to make a lot of errors and they typically come on routine plays.
However, Betancourt definitely knows how to make a spectacular play when the occasion calls for one.
If you don't believe me, all you have to do is check out the video of the sick play he made to start a double play in Monday's 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres.
As you will see, Padres shortstop Jason Bartlett grounds one up the middle that Betancourt fields just behind the second-base bag.
In the blink of an eye, he whips his glove behind his back and flips the ball to Rickie Weeks covering second.
Weeks barehanded the ball to get the out at second, and then threw to first to complete the double-play.
Take note, kids—that's how you make up for an 0-for-4 day at the plate.
