2011 NBA Mock Draft: Houston Rockets Select Jordan Hamilton, SF, at No. 14
Houston Rockets Use The First Of Two First Round Picks To Select Jordan Hamilton, SF, Texas
Just one pick before Marcus Morris is projected to go at No. 15 to the Indiana Pacers is the Houston Rockets’ selection of forward Jordan Hamilton out of Texas.
Possessing the size and speed to transform into a successful NBA player, Hamilton is a great selection for the Rockets at No. 14 if he is still available.
Averaging over 19 points per game in his sophomore season at Texas, Hamilton has been described as the best pure scorer in the draft and will undoubtedly shine in his first year in the Association.
His stunning ability to catch and shoot is unmatched by anyone else in the draft, but it gets him in trouble sometimes with his poor shot selection, however that’s nothing that can’t improve at the next level.
The biggest question with this pick brought up by Chad Ford is whether or not there will be enough room on the Rockets for both Hamilton and Kevin Martin.
Martin’s 23.5 PPG average will surely not make his way to the bench, so look for the Rockets and their new head coach to figure out this great problem to have in the coming months.
