One of the small under the radar trades that went through yesterday has been reversed. One day after former first round draft pick John McCargo was traded to the Colts, he is on his way back to Buffalo for a second stint with the Bills. Late Wednesday Night Colts G.M. Bill Polian confirmed that McCargo failed his physical and was on his way back to Buffalo. This is another embarrassment that has followed McCargo in his short NFL Career.
After failing to win the starting DT job each of his first 3 years in the NFL, McCargo was made inactive for the first couple weeks to start the season this year. To make this even worse for him, McCargo a 1st round pick was beaten out by 5th round pick Kyle Williams each season.
The most interesting thing that will happen now is to see how the Bills will handle this situation. Corey Mace, who has been on and off the Bills roster the past couple seasons, was set to take McCargo's spot as 4th DT on the team. In addition to that Coach Jauron was convinced that the trade made both the Bills and McCargo better. Other team leaders such as Donte Whitner seemed to agree with Jauron today in the media, feeding the consensus that work ethic and character were the reasons that he never met his full potential. It would be hard for any guy to come back to a locker room that seemed to move on with out you and claim that they were a better team without you on the roster.
