Magic Johnson Tells Laker Fans Why the Team Needs to Start Over After Embarrassing Loss

"The Lakers have two problems. They're too slow and they have no athletes."

As quoted from the LA Times Lakers blog, former part-owner and Lakers great Magic Johnson said these words as the lakers were on their way to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks.

It didn't end there, though, as Johnson continued saying:

"This is an athletic league now. When you think about all the teams that are in the playoffs right now, they all can run fast and jump high. Sometimes you can be together too long. This group has been probably together too long."

This is no coincidence as people have been talking about changes with this team for some time now, but it means something more when Magic brings it up.

The Lakers know that Kobe Bryant needs help and it obviously isn't coming from Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol or Andrew Bynum anymore.

This team has too many players on the wrong side of 30 years old and Kobe Bryant cannot hold down the fort by himself anymore.

Dwight Howard and Chris Paul obviously come up as the main names and this is obviously what Magic is referring to.

The team needs a new young superstar to take over and now is the time to make a move, as things obviously cannot get much worse.

And I doubt this the last time we hear from Magic on this topic.
