As Newastle fans across the globe wonder who can stand in the way of their new Kev-olution.

Often blissfully unaware that they have soon become a luaghing stock for the rest of the country, they seem set to prove the doubters wrong. I was sat this afternoon watching Kevin Keegan's press conference instead of going to school and there was something about him and the timing, I just have a feeling that this will all come together and light up St. James' Park.

Keegan understands the fans in this are of the country and knows they want to be entertained and want to see free flowing attacking football. And with the attacking potential that Newcastle have, if their midfield and attack are all firing at he right time, then for once and insane amount of opimism would not be misplaced.

Keegan certainly has experience enough to bring the good times back to toon. If Keegan can sew up the holes left their defence then Newcastle will be free to terrorise down both wings and through the middle of the park, the predatory instincts of a fit Micheal Owen and the sheer pace and power of Martins supported by Duff, Milner, N'zogbia and Erme. So it now seems safe for Newcastle fans to walk proud without having to worry about setting themselves up for a fall.

It's well documentd that the North-East, as well as being the best place in the world, also has the most passionate supporters. This is due to the sheer loyalty of Sunderland and Newcastle fans. Middlesbrough have more players and coaches on matchday than supporters.

Even as a Sunderland fan, I can accept things are looking up and I did criticise when I first heard but today i thought about it and he can do a lot of good. I hold a lot of respect for Newcastle fans for sticking with their team through thick and thin and they deserve 1/3 of the credit for the excellnt atmosphere on Derby days.

So can Newcastle break into the top 4 or 5, or will they be back to square one soon enough?
