WWE Has Been Rocked By The Loss Of A Top Superstar To Injury

So much for that angle between John Morrison and R-Truth.

Just as the creative team put together a program for Morrison and the newly-turned heel R-Truth, Morrison is going to hit the shelf with an injury that's going to keep him out of action for at least a couple of months, possibly longer.

Per Wrestling Observer:

John Morrison announced on his twitter this morning that he will be undergoing neck surgery.  He didn't say any more specifics on it.

The angle with R-Truth ending with a neck injury on Raw was to be the angle to set up if Morrison needed surgery or time off.  Morrison was pulled from the weekend shows and examined as to the severity of the injuries and it was determined he would need surgery.

Morrison is expected to be out of action for several months.

It's a huge blow to the Raw brand, and especially the mid-card, which would have had this match right at the center of it. Morrison, for all of his faults on the microphone, is a great worker and his matches with R-Truth would have been something special.

It will certainly be interesting to see what direction R-Truth gets now that he's heel and his rival is out of the equation. I'm sure we'll find out tonight and this will be a big test for the creative team to see how they can adapt to this situation.

Hopefully Morrison gets healthy and gets back to action soon, because his matches and wrestling style will be missed.
