BYU Star Takes His Talents To Phoenix In The 2011 NBA Draft
What more can I say about Jimmer Fredette that I haven’t already stated here, here and here.
Fredette lit up the scoreboards mid-season at BYU, which helped up his draft stock immensely.
But as the off-season continues, more and more talk has circulated around Fredette’s ability to bring something new to the court every night so that opposing teams won’t find it so easy to figure him out like Florida did in the Sweet 16.
Steve Nash will not be around forever, so the Suns will be an obvious team in need of a young point guard via the draft. The fact that Jimmer will also take a few years to learn under one of the best guards in the game will be a plus for Fredette and the Suns as a whole.
Fredette doesn’t possess the high-level of ball handing and passing skills like the future Hall of Famer Nash does, but being a quick learner with an even better mind set will help him hone that ability sooner rather than later.
Jimmer’s defense also needs some work, but expect the national sensation out of BYU to pleasantly surprise a lot of people if the NBA is alive and well in 2011.
