It's no secret that character development and wrestling ability are what make great women's wrestlers legends. But one of the things that often gets overlooked is their theme songs.
How many times have you jumped for joy, or alternately rolled your eyes when you heard the theme music of your favorite female wrestler? How many women do you view as actual "wrestlers," and have you ever noticed that their entrance music contributes to that?
I know that for me one of the most important things a wrestler in general needs to have is a good entrance theme. It gets them attention from us, and sometimes just makes us sing along.
Here are my top 10 favorite women's wrestling themes:
This theme has always pumped me up from the start all the way to the finish. The addictive beat keeps you singing along, and Candice's burst of energy certainly helped her get some fan support.
This is one of those themes that makes you pay attention. You knew from the opening "boom" that Kong was coming. And that the girls in the ring better beware.
This sultry, primal theme will forever be immortalized as the sex-kitten Sable's theme. Millions of men around the world simultaneously popped when they heard the opening growl...and still do.
Before Sable there was Sunny, and she was just as popular...thanks in part to her very upbeat theme song that proclaimed, "I know you want me!"
Yes, we do.
Heel or Face, this theme worked great. It's most defining feature is the opening laugh which could be viewed as either endearing or maniacal...depending on if you love or hate Trish, that is.
This is like the most badass theme for a woman ever. It's very straight to the point, just like Stephanie McMahon herself.
Is it just me, or does the fact that I can't understand the song make it that much hotter?
Yeah, I thought so.
This song symbolizes a lot: passion, equality, self-empowerment, etc.
But above all else, it represents one thing: Chyna.
From the strum of the first dazzling chord and onwards, we see a true performance.
Melina struts her stuff all the way to the ring on a red carpet, capping it all off with the splits! Beautiful.
Oh, and the paparazzi are a nice touch as well.
Are you really surprised? It'd be ridiculous to put any other theme song in this spot. Lita's presence will forever be encompassed in this one theme song.
Now I want to know: What are your favorite women's theme songs?
