In a thrilling back-and-forth fight between two great super-bantamweights, Jorge Arce came back from an early knockdown to stop his undefeated opponent Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. in the 12th and final round of a very close and competitive bout.

Vazquez' corner threw in the towel with two minutes left in the last round. Showtime commentator, Antonio Tarver responded with "Love steps in."

"I've been there," Tarver said. "That's love stepping in there."

Arce earns a win on his extensive record to improve to 57-6-2 with 44 knockouts plus gets the WBO super-bantamweight title, which is the fourth weight class he has won a title in.

"He absolutely broke Vazquez' heart," said Ricky Hatton. "He [Vazquez] showed much heart till the last round when he had nothing left."

The Mexican fan-favorite appeared to be on his way out of boxing and close to retirement before the bout, but this has to be ranked up there with his best performances and relaunches the momentum he once had in his career.

It was a spectacular fight with an incredible finish from an amazing champion and a very exciting fighter. The scorecards at the time of the stoppage were 107-102 for Arce and 104-104 on the other two.
