WWE News: What Is Edge's First Entertainment Gig Since Retirement?
WWE News Reveals Edge's Activities Post-Retirement
While Edge might be retired, it doesn't mean he's got nothing left to do.
The former WWE champion is going to appear on a Syfy show named Haven. Naturally, for the WWE, this is a great move because SmackDown airs on the network and it's perfect cross-promotion, a tactic we've seen used on USA to help promote Raw.
Per NoDQ.com:
Syfy and Entertainment One (eOne) announced that WWE Superstar Edge will join the cast of Haven in the guest-starring role of "Dwight Hendrickson." A shrewd, longtime Haven resident, Dwight served as a confidant to Nathan's (Lucas Bryant) late father and assisted the former sheriff in keeping particularly suspicious supernatural activity under wraps. Now as acting Sheriff of Haven, Nathan finds himself reaching out to Dwight just as his father did before him.
Look, I don't want to rip on Edge, because I loved him during his run in the WWE, but I'm not big on the former wrestler's acting chops.
The WWE has tried to push its wrestlers into acting roles, and honestly, the only ones with any real success were The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Other than that, there haven't been many real triumphs, unless you count John Cena, and I certainly don't.

Oh and the cinematic genius of Triple H in The Chaperone. That really ranked up there with Citizen Kane and The Godfather. Yeah, right.
To sum it up, while I like Edge, I'll respectfully pass on Haven.
