Jon Gruden Names Jeff Garcia Starter, Again

Thomas MooreContributor IOctober 14, 2008

During his weekly press conference, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, Jon Gruden, named Jeff Garcia his starter for Week Seven.

Garcia was the starter in 2007 and in the loss to the Saints during Week One. Injuries and a poor performance sidelined Garcia while veteran Buccaneer, Brian Griese, managed the offense for the next four weeks.

Griese went down with an elbow injury in a Week Five loss to the Broncos.

On Sunday, Garcia had to step up again, just like in 2007.

Tampa beat the Panthers 23-7 and Garcia went 15/20 for 173 yards and a touchdown.

The Bucs take on the Seahawks in Week Seven, on Sunday Night, and I'm glad we're doing it with Garcia under center.
