Pacquiao vs. Mosley: What the Odds Are
Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley isnt exactly a bettor's dream when it comes to the odds, unless you have a ton of cash to risk on the Pacquiao or you're hoping for a Mosley upset.
If you're looking to place a bet legally, Las Vegas is the place to be. The sports books are like mini-palaces and it's the place to be for all the big events -- Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, NCAA tournament and, of course, all the big fights.
Saturday, May 7, is no exception when Pacquiao and Mosley get in the ring.
Right now, according to Bodog.com, Pacquiao is the heavy favorite at -600, with Mosley a +400 heavy underdog. In English, it's very simple. If you think Mosley is going to win, you're getting nice odds at 4-1. If you bet $100 on Shane Mosley, you'll get $400 back if he wins.
Unfortunately, Pacquiao is such the heavy favorite that you would need to wager $600 on Pacquiao to win just to receive $100 back. Now, some big-time gamblers with money to spare will certainly play those odds in huge numbers, but even a $100,000 bet on Pacquiao only returns $16,667.
For that money you might as well just bet on black or red.
