Sabres Help To Further Destruction Of Nassau Coliseum, Long Day In Long Island
Yesterday in a thrilling fashion the Buffalo Sabres put on a scoring clinic in Hempstead, NY. Some pretty, some ugly but all counted just the same. The action came hard and fast in the second period with a flurry of goals as well as a barn burning brawl that reminded me of what hockey used to be when I was a kid.
The Sabres open the season 2-0 with their sights set on a long season ahead. The high scoring affair was a throwback to two season ago when Buffalo lost in the Eastern Conference finals. Sabres Captain Craig Rivet showed signs not only of two heavy fists but also solid leadership on the ice. Buffalo travels a short distance on the Long Island Expressway into Manhattan tomorrow to take on the New York Rangers.
