As I sat behind the printing press at work yesterday, I turned on the Sirius radio to the ESPN station to hear the reports and opinions on the weekend of NCAA and NFL football.

The host got to my personal favorite part, NCAA football, and he started talking about the dominant teams in the nation. He started talking about the five the teams he says are the only ones who will make it to the championship. They are as follows: Texas, Oklahoma, Penn St., Florida, LSU.

Well, I agree with Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida, but he made a comment shortly after that I highly disagree with; he said "Matthew Stafford and the Georgia offense are over rated." Well as a Georgia that offended me, but as a football fan in general, I disagree.

Matthew Stafford is one of the best quarterbacks in college football. Next to Tim Tebow of Florida and Colt McCoy from Texas, Stafford is one of the best. I don't think people give Stafford enough credit because he takes too many risks. He tries to make a difficult long pass for a touchdown when he should make a short pass for the first down, runs when it should be thrown, and throws when it should be ran.

If you pay any attention at all, you can tell he's gotten smarter over the course of the last few games because he's not taking as many risks, and he's making the right decisions at the right time. It may not be this year, but I think Matthew Stafford could easily be in the run for the Heisman trophy in the next few years.

So to you Mr. ESPN, please, pay attention to the games and actually study before you get on the air and criticize one of the best football players in the country.
