Cincinnati Bengals Draft Picks Fill Huge Needs

1st: A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

2nd: Andy Dalton (QB) TCU

3rd: Dontay Moch (OLB) Nevada

4th: Clint Boling (OG) Georgia

5th: Robert Sands (S) W Virginia

6th: Ryan Whalen (WR) Stanford

7th: Korey Lindsey (CB) S Illinois

7th: Jay Finley (RB) Baylor

GRADE: A-

The Bengals first four picks were outstanding.

A.J. Green may have been the pick even if Chad Ochocinco hadn't proclaimed his impending departure via twitter. He's an awesome talent and will make contributions right away. And so will Green's college teammate, Clint Boling who has a great deal of experience coming from the SEC.

Like Ochocinco, Carson Palmer seems to be on his way out of town and they've filled that spot nicely with Andy Dalton, who could end up becoming the best quarterback in this entire draft. He's a big time leader and have a presence in that locker room right away.

And they filled a few other potential needs in the later round: Ryan Whalen will have a spot in the offense since Terrell Owens is gone, Korel Lindsey may be a nice replacement for Johnathan Joseph should he leave as a highly coveted free agent, and in case Cedric Benson leaves as a free agent, Jay Finley can push Bernard Scott for the starter's job.

But the most intriguing pick is Dontay Moch, who ran a blistering 4.3 40-yard-dash at the combine. His speed on the edge will be a huge factor in trying to bring down Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco, and Peyton Hills.
