Before the fight could start, it was all over for Jason Brilz as Vladimir Matyushenko knocked him out in 20 seconds.
In what has been a quick night for fights, Matyushenko put out the quickest ending. Matyushenko threw a one-two combination that landed and rocked Brilz. Brilz quickly fell to the mat and Matyushenko capitalized and pounded on Brilz until the ref came in and stopped the fight.
Matyushenko has now won five of his last six fights and is now 7-3 in the UFC. With that win Matyushenko improved to 26-5 in his illustrious career and now has nine career victories by knockout, none of this magnitude though.
Now, Brilz, who is now 18-4-1 in his career, falls out of the top 25 in the light heavyweight division. Matyushenko almost certainly cracks the top 25 now with the win over Brilz.
Matyushenko's knockout is now certainly a contender for Knockout of the Night among several other fights at what has become a very exciting UFC 129.
UFC 129 so far has only seen three fights go to the judges' scorecard. There have been six finishes out of the nine bouts so far. The crowd in Toronto put up one of their loudest cheers of the night after Matyushenko blasted the face of Brilz and ended the fight early.
"The Janitor" strikes again and proves he won't be a gatekeeper in the light heavyweight division.
